Early On® Michigan is the system of early intervention services for infants and toddlers, birth to three years of age, with developmental delays and/or disabilities. Early On® services are coordinated through Genesee Intermediate School District, Early Childhood Programs and Services.

Genesee Intermediate School District's Great Start Readiness Program delivers free, high quality preschool programs to children throughout Genesee County. Programs utilize a research-based curriculum in a supportive learning environment to assist children with the development of the skills needed to be ready for school.

Head Start and Early Head Start
Preschool programs for children ages 3-5, provided by the Genesee County Community Action Resource Department and the Genesee Intermediate School District. Children must meet eligibility requirements for the program, based on family income.
Parents as Teachers®
Parents as Teachers provides the information, support, and encouragement parents need to help their children develop optimally during the crucial early years of life.
SKIP to a Great Start (Successful Kids = Involved Parents)
SKIP to a Great Start is a school-based program open to all parents of children in Genesee County between the ages of birth and kindergarten entry. SKIP offers weekly parent-child playgroups which provide the opportunity for interactive play with a focus on children's development, nutrition, physical fitness, literacy, and math to enhance a child's school readiness. Developmental, hearing and vision, and oral health screenings are also available at no cost.
School Readiness Kits
The School Readiness Kits provides interactive lessons for children and adults to covering the core concepts of school readiness. Information on the Michigan Department of Education kindergarten level content standards are listed to inform parents and preschool teachers about the skills that children will be developing in kindergarten.

Growth and Development
Ages and Stages Questionnaire
Families with children between the ages of 2 months and 5 years of age can complete a FREE Ages and Stages (ASQ-3) developmental screening. It only takes 10 minutes to complete and a developmental screening specialist will follow up with an individualized email to offer support and resources.
Healthy Start, Grow Smart
The Healthy Start, Grow Smart series is a U.S. Department of Education resource that helps parents learn more about how their child grows and develops.

Genesee County Health Department
The Genesee County Health Department provides clinics for immunizations, children's special health care needs, lead screening and abatement, and information on communicable diseases. Services are available to all children and a sliding fee scale is used to determine cost to the family.
